Located at Nakhon Ratchasima provine, Northeastern part, about 168 km. from NIAH, Bangkok


» Function

  • Serve as the OIE regional reference laboratory for OIE members and ASEAN countries on FMD diagnosis in animal specimens submitted from field outbreak within the country and ASEAN.
  • Study on FMD epidemiology, virus characterization and sub-typing of FMD by ELISA and molecular techniques.
  • Strain differentiation for selection of seed vaccine strain.
  • Production of diagnostic reagents for FMD diagnosis.
  • Research and development on diagnostic techniques and collaboration among the international organizations, such as OIE, WRL, FAO, JICA, IAEA and AAHL.
  • Training center and technology transfer on FMD diagnosis.
